Ooey, gooey raclette isn’t just for Alpine apres-ski and fancy French restaurants. Our Made to Melt Raclette Set brings winter’s coziest tradition home with all the fixings for a DIY raclette night. There’s a generous wedge of French Raclette and the Swissmar Nordic Portable Raclette machine—just slice, melt, and pour. Plus, our favorite pairings, like savory ham, rustic mustard, and puckery cornichons. It’s the ultimate gift for cheese lovers and the best way to treat yourself this winter. (See below for instructions on how to use the Raclette Set.)

“I think a lot of people don’t realize how easy it is to have raclette at home, especially with this gift box. One simple gadget, the perfect cheese, and a range of pairings. It’s my go-to gift when I’m traveling and staying with friends (who doesn’t love melty cheese draped over a plate of meat and bread and pickles?).”

  • The Made to Melt Raclette Set is a perfect gift for housewarmings, anniversaries, and birthdays (especially for the dinner party devotees in your life). But it’s also great for hosting or those moments when you want to give yourself something special.
  • Deriving its name from the French verb “racler,” meaning to scrape, raclette is a semi-soft, brine-washed cheese that has plenty of deep, fruity notes.
  • Its name is rooted in an Alpine lunch tradition, one in which cheesemakers would melt the cut surfaces of raclette on nearby fire-heated boulders, then scrape the melted cheese over boiled potatoes and cornichons.
  • With this collection, you can enjoy raclette in a modern setting, thanks to the ease of the Swissmar Portable Raclette—powered by three tea candles and featuring a foldable stand and nonstick pan.
  • Just add a baguette and some roasted vegetables to make your raclette set into a full meal.
  • For future raclette nights, just replenish your supply of French Raclette (or go for another good melter like Jasper Hill Farm Whitney or Spring Brook Farm Reading).

Step 1

Prep any additions you'd like to add to your raclette spread, like toasted bread, roasted potatoes, or vegetables.

Step 2

Cut long slices off your wedge of raclette (you can leave the rind on!).

Step 3

Set up your raclette machine, and light the candles. You can also refer to the directions on the Swissmar box.

Step 4

Place one slice of the raclette on the pan. While the cheese heats, build a small plate with your desired assortment of ham, cornichons, mustard, and any other fixings you prepared.

Step 5

Once the cheese is melted and bubbling, pour over your prepared plate, and enjoy immediately! Slice, melt, and repeat.
